Bidesini is a small Woman farmer staying with her family in Jhurimal, Diamunda P.O., Sundergarh Dist.
She was introduced to nudge2include this year and due to encouragement by a few who understood insurance, got herself enrolled for the Hospital Cash Insurance. She and her husband both got their Hospital Cash Insurance policies by paying their 1/3rd share of Rs 100 each, while sponsorships from nudge2include covered the 2/3rd of the policy.
This was Bidesini’s first personal private Health Insurance Policy and did not know the benefits of appropriate type of insurance that were available at her disposal. She would only depend on the Govt Healthcare cover but it wouldn't suffice to cover other expenses than treatment alone.
In Aug 2022, she was diagnosed with bulky uterus and had to be hospitalised for 5 days in the Samaleshwari Hospital, Sundargarh, for her treatment.
The nudge2include Hospital Insurance team attended her claim and was able to reimburse an amount of ₹ 5,000/- that covered a significant part of her treatment and other expenses during hospitalisation and recovery period.
Bidesini now has experienced the power of this specific type of insurance and on asking her, she says she will definitely continue to insure herself henceforth. Just the sheer comfort of avoiding private borrowing has given her great mental relief. She is now aware of the claim process and time it takes along with understanding the importance of hospital documentation.
This small but important claim has helped her family too to understand the power of financial and personal safety instruments. The family now is spreading the word among their community and relatives.
